The Partridge Family Sound Magazine

$25.00

Considered by most fans and critics to be the greatest Partridge Family album of them all, Sound Magazine came as the 3rd installment in the summer of ‘71 with the single release of “I Woke Up In Love This Morning” leading the way. The song, written by Irwin Levine and L. Russell Brown, was inspired by the Beatles’ “She Loves You,” and the soundtrack from Fiddler on The Roof. The album itself abounds with energy and showcases a slate of songs that could all have been singles. Paul Anka’s “One Night Stand” opens the collection, and Rupert Holmes’ “Echo Valley 2-6809” originally intended as the 2nd single, is an early sampling of Holmes’ twist-endings. (Think "The Pina Colada Song.”) Tony Romeo’s masterpiece, “Summer Days,” was the intended solo single and title of David’s first solo album, but a last minute switcheroo changed its destiny.

We have gone to great lengths to provide excellent copies of these albums at reasonable prices. All copies sold here are repackaged, with both the Jacket and Vinyl in excellent condition. All vinyl has been played on high-end record players to assure there is absolutely no skipping, and minimal popping/static noise to satisfy the best of collectors. The vinyl has been professionally cleaned by experts, and the jackets are all completely intact with no tearing or abrasions including the fine, left edge often destroyed over time. None of our copies have clips, hole punches or corner-cuts associated with “cutouts,” done to mark albums at reduced prices for the sales bins. The inner sleeve was simply a typical white sleeve, now yellowed over time due to acid deterioration, and we have replaced that sleeve with a white, acid-free sleeve lined with a protective poly liner—the highest quality available in restoration. And finally, we have packaged the album in a crystal clear polypropylene, acid-free, re-sealable outer sleeve with a custom, “When We’re Singin’” hype sticker! We’ll send you a little pack of stickers as a special Partridge “THANK YOU,” too!
