"Stephanie" & "All of The Things" Special Story, Special Bundles!

Songwriter David Price was involved in writing both "Stephanie" and "All of The Things" recorded by The Partridge Family. The stories behind these two particular Partridge Family songs are priceless, but the very special, poignant story behind David Price and what he did for our campaign is even more heart-warming.

While I was preparing for the campaign to publish "When We're Singin," I asked several of the songwriters  to contribute signed items to our rewards packages. I thought it would be exciting to include a few items that highlighted some of the un-released songs, since many of them are fan favorites, so I approached David Price. I asked him if he would consider hand-writing the lyrics for each of his two songs to be offered as exclusive, one-of-a-kind rewards items. 

He told me that he was suffering from Parkinson's disease, and that his hands shake a lot. Before he could say another word, I expressed my heartfelt apologies for having asked him to do this, as I obviously didn't know of his condition.

He immediately jumped back in to the conversation to complete his original thought. He told me that he really wanted to do this. He wanted to hand-write those lyrics. He asked me if I was in a hurry because it would take him some time. He was insistent. Not only did he want to hand-write the lyrics, but he wanted to sign the lyric commemoratives, too. He was so flattered to learn that after all these years, fans still really love this music.

So a few months went by, and the hand-written lyrics came in the mail. I couldn't have been more touched. I initially put the lyrics up at $250.00 each but listed the commemoratives separately. I am combining them into two very special packages. The "Stephanie" bundle now includes the one and only hand-written lyric by David Price AND a "Stephanie" lyric commemorative, also signed by Price. You will also get a signed copy of the book, with a souvenir bookmark to go with it and your name published on the website and in the book as a backer of the campaign. "All of The Things" is also repackaged the same way.   There is only ONE of each, and are true collector's items. Each Bundle is $250 ($220 without the book.)

'The Wrecking Crew' Filmmaker Denny Tedesco is a Backer!

The campaign to publish "When We're Singin'" has now earned the backing of Denny Tedesco, filmmaker of the award-winning documentary, "The Wrecking Crew."

The critically acclaimed "The Wrecking Crew," tells the story of the session musicians who worked around the clock playing on thousands of records during the '60s and '70s. These players were the best of the best, and they were intrinsic to the creation of a sound for such acts as The Mamas and The Papas, Sonny & Cher, the Carpenters, and yes--The Partridge Family!

In fact, Denny Tedesco's father, Tommy Tedesco, was one of the lead guitar players for The Partridge Family, and Denny provides commentary in "When We're Singin'" about his young memories of the Partridge Family music!

Denny's "The Wrecking Crew" was finally  given distribution after a successful  campaign on Kickstarter in 2013 that garnered Denny the final funding needed to pay off expensive music licensing fees.

Denny has been a friend to "When We're Singin'" since the beginning of the project's development. He was the guy who connected me to the session players--the great Hal Blaine, Max Bennett, Louie Sheldon, and Joe Osborn to name only a few.

Bell Records' Beverly Weinstein is a Backer!

Beverly Weinstein, Bell Records' Vice President of Production has just become a backer of this campaign to publish "When We're Singin'!"

Beverly signed a limited number of Bell Records Souvenir Coasters especially designed for this campaign! On the back, she hand-wrote her title, VP of Production! A very rare collector's item! 

Beverly was with Bell Records from the company's earliest beginnings. She worked under president Larry Uttal until Bell Records was absorbed by Arista in 1974. Beverly was in charge of Art Direction for all of the album designs.  She spoke with us on several occasions and put us in touch with several other former employees who were also interviewed for this book! It started in March of 1971 when David Cassidy performed his first concert in Seattle, Washington. By spring of 1972, he was posing nude for Rolling Stone in an attempt to break his squeaky clean image. He became the highest paid performer on the planet and he toured the world through spring of  1974. In his final concert tour, a young fan tragically died at his White City Stadium concert in the U.K. which took its toll on David.

A Partridge Family Caricature, By Artist Glen Hanson!

Glen Hanson drew and painted this Partridge Family piece several years ago as an original design specifically created for me. For the first time, this print will be offered to the public in numbered, limited edition quantity, with each piece signed by Hanson exclusively for this campaign. Hanson has done caricatures on other retro TV shows including The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Wonder Woman, The Golden Girls, and Charlie’s Angels.
